When to Take a Shower

As a stay at home mom, there are some things that are really fun to do. There are lots of perks. And there are lots of things that are hard.  Sometimes, the hardest thing to do (or find a GOOD time for) is to ....

Take a Shower.

( I love this...thank you clip art! If only I had more showers that were this enjoyable and not "hurry hurry quick quick!")

Do you get up even earlier than your kids do and sacrifice sleep? Do you drag yourself out of bed earlier and add to the minutes (hours) you've lost at night thanks to getting up with nightmares, sick kids, cranky/stubborn kids, babies to feed, etc?

For me, no.

Do you risk it and leave your kids out to roam the house while you take a *quick* shower? Sometimes, this is the case for me. Some times it turns out just fine (thank you Jake and the Neverland Pirates!) and other times.....well you know what kids can do in the matter or minutes or seconds.

Do you shower during nap time? For me, nap time is the ONLY time I can really get anything done. So, do I shower or do I do the dishes? Mop the floor? Clean the bathroom? Make the phone call to the doctors? (or do I call my girlfriend AND clean??? whoa productivity and enjoyment!?)......this is tricky territory.....you must figure out priorities.....

Sometimes I take a shower at night, but let's be honest, you get to the end of the day and you're like "I'm pooped. I'm going to watch some Netflix and do some Pinning...."

I am totally aware that all of these are choices. Choices that I make and I live with. And that's okay....but here's a guide to know when you NEED to take a shower..... like, just do it no matter what.

1.You're going out somewhere you have a high chance of running into an ex-boyfriend or that one chic that just bugs you. Impress, Impress!!

2. You can smell yourself. You know...those places....if you can smell yourself when you sit down or moving around....it's time.

Here's a great story....I was being such a great Mom and I was making my kids a great breakfast. My 4 year old comes over to me, standing behind me starts some kid story. In mid-story says, "Mom, you need a bath, you stink," and then continues on with his story. Well, there it is folks....

Otherwise, some dry shampoo and a little cover up and mascara will get you through if you have to go anywhere. And if you're home with your kids, eh showers are overrated.

And you save money! I was recently reading an article that was along the lines of "Sneaky Ways to Save Money." Who doesn't like to save money...and be sneaky!? sweet. I laughed when I got to tell my husband that I was saving TONS of money by only taking a shower every 2 or 3 days!

I not being gross!

I am SAVING MONEY! You know, being a girl, you can save even more when you don't have to use all that shampoo and body wash. Don't take time in the shower to waste water to shave your legs, no electricity for your hair dryer! And if I don't get ready, I use no make up and my make up lasts longer! Wow! This is fabulous. I'm not being lazy, I'm SAVING MONEY!

There are other instances where a shower might be a good thing, but I'm not judging....not too much anyway....
